Dr. Anderson was born in Blue Hill and grew up in Ellsworth, where her family had a rough Collie named Jeremiah and a painted turtle named Pokey. She wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember and had dog-sitting jobs in high school. She attended UMaine Orono’s Animal & Veterinary Science program, which included training a Holstein calf for show, milking Holstein cows and interning at Penobscot Veterinary Services. While in college and veterinary school, she worked at pet hospitals and veterinary pharmacies before receiving a DVM from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Her special interests include wound management, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. Her favorite part of her job is establishing relationships with clients and patients.
Dr. Anderson shares her home with a Georgia street mutt named Hershel and a DSH named Cash, along with her husband of almost 10 years, and her daughter and son. She spends her free time with her family, and enjoys baking and cooking, as well as outdoor activities, including going to the beach, camping, boating, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and ice-fishing. Her guilty pleasure is chocolate.
